Food Adventures: German Haus - a Taste of Germany in Cebu City (CLOSED)

NOTE: German Haus Closed and re-branded. We visited the new place and they changed the whole menu and it was extremely disappointing now. We love the food before but now its just not the same. There are almost no german dishes on the menu. I can go on and on but i will leave it at that

Hey there :) thanks for dropping by at my blog.

To to continue on with my fattening saga in Cebu City let me take you to German Haus.

Photo from their facebook page

Its one of those places in the city where the food is supreme! Let me tell you the place is so cozy and there are times that their place is full! A lot of foreigners visit this place and they have very good reviews in trip advisor. We discovered the place because my husband is looking for the top 10 resto in Cebu and their name showed up. We decided to go here and it really exceeded our expectations when it comes to food this is literally our FAVORITE RESTO IN CEBU!

Restaurant owner and Chef Jimmy
A really nice and humble person behind all the mouth watering dishes in the menu!
My husband asked him how he was able to acquire all his knowledge about
cooking German cuisine. Apparently he stayed in Germany since he was a kid and stayed there for around 27 years! Until recently he decided to come back home in the Philippines and have his own restaurant!
WELL THANK GOD HE DID!

Without further a-do lets go to the food!
in no particular order of consumption

fresh green salad with yogurt dressing
we also tried the one with vinaigrette dressing
this is the best salad that i have had for a long time,., better than waterfronts buffet bar in cebu
rating: 10/10

potato soup half size
also their serving for this is good for 2 people and you really get your moneys worth!
its creamy and has a thick consistency its not salty like the previous potato soups i had in the past.
i prefer this over TGIFridays potato soup
rating: 10/10

Jagerschnitzel with mushroom sauce served with fries
soft breaded porkchop with freshly cut fries and creamy mushroom sauce
the coating is just right, meat is tender perfectly seasoned and not overcooked, fries are not over salted
 I LOVE ANYTHING WITH MUSHROOMS
they serve it hot! YUM!
Rating: 9/10

i cant really spell the name of this dish since the names are in GERMAN
this one tastes good too! FYI there are photos of each dish beside the name so its not hard to find
if i can remember it right its like pork and mushrooms with mashed potatoes.
the sauce is really flavorful and not overwhelming
its perfectly balanced with the homemade mashed potatoes
Rating: 9/10

AND OUR FAVORITE!

Roast Beef with red wine sauce served with sauerkraut and homemade potato dumplings
The meat was very tender yet firm the sauerkraut brings the flavor all together with
the potato dumplings thats cooked to perfection.
you need to get a bite of everything together and it just AMAZING!
A very rich and savory dish!

Rating: 100/10
seriously guys if you guys just have to pick one dish! THIS IS THE DISH!

(i think thats how they call it, well at least how i call it)
there is a chocolate fudge at the bottom
topped with cherries, chocolate ice cream and whip cream
drizzled with chocolate syrup,
