Creative Uses For Your Spare Room

You could use your spare room as a guest bedroom, but it’s not that exciting and if you don’t use it that much it’s a bit of a waste. There are plenty of other things that you could do with it if you put your mind to it. With a bit of creative thinking, you could turn that spare room into something that will be sure to impress any visitors. If you’re stuck for ideas, have a bit of inspiration.

Home Cinema

Going to the cinema is getting more expensive by the day. You could save yourself plenty of money by just making your own, and it shouldn’t cost you too much. The most expensive outlay will be getting a projector, but there are a few good quality ones at a reasonable price out there. Once you’ve got a good projector, put in some comfy sofas and blackout curtains and you’ll be all set. Top it off with a small refrigerator for refreshments during the movie.

Bar

Every man has dreamt of having his own bar at some point in his life. It might cost you, but it will definitely be worth it in the end. You can get portable bars for home that are compact enough to put in a spare room and they won’t cost you too much. You could try getting proper kegs but it’s going to be a bit of a pain. It’s better to put a few refrigerators in and stock them up with bottles. You could also try building a bar that hides away in a cupboard so you can still use the room for other things, then turn it into a bar when you need it.

Studio

For the artists out there, why not consider turning your spare room into a studio space for you to work in. It doesn’t need to be that big, but it has to have a lot of natural light if you want it to be a good space for painting. Choose neutral colors for everything otherwise the decor will take away from your work and make it more difficult to concentrate. Maybe throw in a few comfortable chairs for taking breaks and put a few easels near the windows.

Reading Room

If you’re an avid reader, you can easily find yourself drowning in books. Trying to find something to read when all of your books are dotted about the house can be a pain. A great solution to this is to turn your spare room into a great reading room. Put plenty of big sofas in and have wall lamps spaced around so you can read at night, anywhere in the room. Cover the walls with bookshelves and load them up, organizing all of them properly so you never have to spend hours searching for your favorite book again.

Music Room

Any musician knows that guitars and amps take up a lot of space, throw a piano in the mix and things could start to get really crowded. Having a dedicated room for all of your instruments can free up a lot of space in the rest of the house. Fill it with rugs and other upholstered furniture to soak up some of the sound.

There are a lot of ways on how you can utilize a spare room. Which one is your favorite? Comment down below!
