Little Bathroom Upgrades That Make A Big Difference

There's nothing worse than falling out of love with your home and being convinced that there isn't a lot you can do about it. Our homes are the places we come back to at the end of the day to relax in and to spend time with loved ones in - so if you're not feeling a connection to it, it can be a very alienating experience. Houses, like cars and items of clothing, go through a lot of wear and tear over the years - especially if you live in a busy family home where people are always coming and going. Things inevitably start to break or come loose, and the decor stays the same even though trends have since moved on. One of the reasons why so many people feel this way but still put off making any upgrades to their homes is because they are worried about the cost of it. But in reality, sometimes all you need a few small upgrades that can make the world of difference to a neglected room. Take the bathroom, for example - a room that often gets overlooked until it is too late. Your's might be looking a little worse for wear these days. If that is the case, take a look at these simple things you can do to breathe some life back into it.

Install a heated towel rail

Scrunched up towels on the floor or an overflowing laundry basket isn't exactly the best look for a chic and stylish bathroom. Plus, no one likes getting out of the shower and straight into a cold, rough towel that has clearly seen better days. Adding electric heated towel rails for your bathroom can resolve this issue entirely. Not only do they look cool and modern, but they also make your everyday shower experience feel just that little bit more special.

Don't be afraid to decorate

Many of us avoid decorating the bathroom in the way we do with other rooms in the house - usually for fear of any decor becoming a victim of water damage. While it can be good to bear this in mind, especially if your bathroom does get very humid, there are also plenty of ways you can add accessories to brighten up your bathroom. Floating shelves are a good option, as this way they don't infringe upon any existing storage space you may rely on. Pop a few bathroom-friendly plants on them, or a few little trinkets and pictures, to create a point of interest.

Paint the tiles

If your tiles are straight out of the 1960s and you can't stand the look of them anymore, you have probably thought about replacing them. However, this can be a messy and expensive job - something not all of us are in a position to do. If this applies to you, why not simply paint the tiles instead? Sure, it won't last as long as replacing them entirely, and you will need to make sure that you use a good primer. But it can be a fairly straightforward way to add a bit of 'oomph' to an otherwise boring bathroom.

Upgrading your bathroom should not be a daunting task and shouldn't break the bank. With these simple tips you can breath new life to your boring bathroom. Do you have any tips on decorating your bathroom in a budget? Comment down below!
