If it feels like you’re in a constant battle to keep your home clean and well-presented, you’re not alone! We are all so busy that household chores and DIY projects can often take a backseat to more important stuff like work and taking care of the kids. It’s usually no big deal, but sometimes, if you are trying to sell a house, or you’re having guests over, for example, you need you home to look its best. The good news is, I have your back. Below you will find some simple tips to get your house show home ready without too much effort!

Draw Up a Schedule

Take some time to do a walk-through of your home, noting down all of the chores you will need to do in order to whip the place into shape. You can take photos to help if you like. Once you have made a list of everything you need to do in each room, you can draw up a cleaning schedule to ensure you get it done in whatever time-frame you have to work with.

Daily Chores

It is also a good idea to set up a daily chore list, which will have less stuff on it, but which if carried out each day will make all the difference. You don’t need to spend a lot of time on this 15-20 minutes a day on the most important tasks should be more than enough for the average person.

Freshen Up

If you want your home to look like a show home, not only does it need to be clean, but it also needs to be in good condition. This means that you need to get out your paintbrushes and touch up those scuffed walls or call in a professional to take care of marble floor honing for you.

The best way to go about keeping your home fresh and new-looking is to carry out these tasks whenever the problem arises, rather than waiting until hey mount up. That way, it will take you very little time to deal with each problem.

Invest in Accessories

If you’ve ever visited a show home, you will know that they are the height of luxury. They are warm, cozy and inviting – after all, they are trying to sell visitors on the merits of buying a similar property! One way you can elevate your home from cozy but lived into spectacular show home is to bring in some expensive looking accessories. Opulent throws, classy candlesticks, shiny new faucets and glistening chandeliers are all things that, when added to a newly cleaned and freshened home can transform it into a luxurious abode that anyone would feel lucky to be invited in to. They can also add character and create more warmth.

Fresh Flowers

For a final flourish, why not bring in some fresh flowers to brighten the place up and give it a more expensive feel?

Although it can be nice to have a perfectly presentable home, it is far from the most important thing, so if you do not have the time to create your own personal show home, don’t beat yourself up. Just do your best to keep on top of your chore list, and you will see huge improvements.

xoxo,
Therese
