Easy Clean: Kitchen Edition

Cleaning the kitchen probably isn't that high up on your list of looked forward activities. It's not something that you will save up and do on a Saturday night instead of watching a movie or drinking a few glasses of wine now, is it? But is doesn't have to be the dreaded, mammoth task that it appears to be. Read on to find out more.

One of the things that we do most regularly in term of cleaning in the kitchen is washing up the plates, pots, and pans that you have used to cook and eat dinner from. You can't really get around this chore as it has to be done unless you are fine eating off paper plate for the rest of your life!

But you can make it easier on yourself. One way to do this is to get a dishwasher. Then you only need to worry about loading it and unloading it, rather than standing at the sink doing the washing up all evening. But it is important that you use your dishwasher to your advantage.

For example, you plates might come out streaky if you have hard water in your area, so make sure that you get a water softener even if you are using a dishwasher. There are plenty available, and you can get some guidance on Water Softener Guider and sites like it, about the type that would be best for your setup. This can really help as you will have to rewash plates a lot less.

You also have to be clever in how to load your dishwasher. If you are smart, you can load it up as you are cooking. All you need to do in the rinse each item as you use it, and place in in the corresponding rack. Then all you have left to do at the end of the meal, is the plates and cutlery you have eaten off of. Which makes it way easier.

Another problem area in the kitchen can be the work-surfaces that you use. Kitchen surfaces are usually pretty heavy duty and get a lot of use, so it's important to keep them clean and hygienic.

But this can be far more difficult than it needs to be, especially if there is all sorts of clutter, using up space and gathering dust out on the side.

Avoid this by keeping all kitchen gadgets away in cupboards where they will stay cleaner. Then you will have an uninterrupted kitchen side, which will make cleaning it, way easier as well.

It's easy to forget about keeping the inside of your kitchen cabinets clean. This is because we sometimes just shut the door and forget about them. But as they are the places win which we store all of our ingredients and utensils, it’s pretty vital to make sure that they aren't dirty too.

To make this as easy as possible, set a time every few months, where you pull out all the items out of the cupboards and wash the insides down with an anti-bacterial cleaner.

You can also use this time to check the use by date, and throw away anything that is past its prime. As that will help to keep your kitchen cleaner, and more sanitary in the long run as well.
