Searching For The Perfect Engagement Ring: Alternative Styles To Look Out For

If you are a bit of a jewelry hoarder, you might be concerned about what kind of engagement ring you will have. You are meant to wear it the majority of the time. But what if you want to go for a less traditional look? A silver or gold band with one large stone might just not appeal to you. You’ll want the ring to match the other jewelry and accessories that you have, or it will look out of place. But there are plenty of options out there for you. You just need to look around. So here are some alternative engagement ring styles that you could go for.

Rose Gold

Platinum, white gold or yellow gold can be a little boring if you are looking for something a little different. So why not choose a ring in rose gold? The pink color has been making waves in jewelry trends over the past year or so. It has also grown in popularity for even things like smartphone covers. It is a pretty shade, and it is sure to flatter all different skin tones. So it could be an option worth looking at.

Colorful Diamonds and Gems

Definitely a non-traditional option for an engagement ring is for a colorful diamond. You could choose hues of yellow or even pink. They can look stunning and will really stand out from the crowd. A really modern choice would be choosing a black or charcoal diamond. It would brighten up a plain band too. You also go down the route of not having a diamond at all. Choosing a gem is a great option. You could choose a setting with sapphire, like some of the Verragio engagement rings. You could choose rubies or emeralds; the latter giving off a certain vintage vibe. It could be a gem that you have always loved or one that is your birthstone perhaps. Even a gem like alexandrite might be a good option, as it has a stunning color change effect.

Square Bands

If you want to create a bit of a talking piece, then a square band is the way to go. Do you know anyone with an engagement ring that is square? I doubt that you do. They look really good, though. They can also be a little more comfortable than circular bands would be. There will be some gaps, making the band fit a little looser, meaning it won’t pinch as much.

Double Band

If you are looking for something unique, then you could go for a band what is made up of two bands. It could be the two bands side by side, or the two bands making an x-shape around the stone. It looks stunning on a finger and looks really striking. Definitely a choice for something a little different and extra sparkly.

Are there any trends you have noticed with engagement rings? If you have a non-traditional ring, I’d love to hear all about it! Let me know in the comments section below.
